As part of activities to strengthen the association's capacity in relation to new methods of teaching and presenting STEM fields to children and pupils, from 1 to 6 November 2025 we took part in the Vulca Seminar 2025 held at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.

The seminar brought together representatives of maker organisations, educators and researchers from across Europe with the aim of learning and exchanging experiences, methods and ideas on how to encourage children and young people to explore, create and experiment through STEM. Through a series of lectures and workshops we explored new ways of teaching and presenting STEM, with particular emphasis on hands-on, creative and interdisciplinary approaches to learning.

Participants were able to find out more about European policies and projects, current funding trends and ways of getting involved in future programmes and partnerships. This part of the seminar provided valuable insight into the possibilities for developing educational and innovation projects through European initiatives.

Taking part in the event was an excellent opportunity to learn about STEM education practices, network with other organisations and exchange experiences on using technology and creative tools in work with children and young people. We were particularly inspired by presentations of examples from different countries that connect communities through STEM activities and open workshops.

The experience gained at the Vulca Seminar 2025 further strengthened our organisation in developing innovative approaches to learning and gave us valuable knowledge and contacts for further improving the activities of the STEMerica moves on project and creating new educational content tailored to children and pupils.
