We spent the first Friday of April at the Technical School in Slavonski Brod, presenting our STEMerica project and running workshops as part of STEAM Week. The students were the focus and the main protagonists of the event - they showed us their inventions and experiments and taught us through fun activities and workshops.
FabLab explained how an electric circuit works and presented virtual reality technology, which participants used to try their hand at modelling and drawing. We also showcased the vinyl cutter, a computer-controlled foil cutter – participants came up with their own designs, digitised and cut them, and finally transferred them onto textiles.

Alongside our workshops, our partner Institute POI showed – through its BIOPLAnet project – how to cook bioplastic, recycle bottle caps and turn them into spinning tops and similar shapes. Visitors could also play football with robots built by the students, make their own soap, watch holograms and get a little “shaken up” by electricity.
See how it all looked in the photos and in the TV report 🙂
