On Thursday, 11 June 2026, the Fablab association took part in the Garešnica Infinity Festival with the „STEMerica moves on“ project, a unique event that brings together enthusiasts of science, technology, innovation and creativity. The festival was organised by the Town of Garešnica, the North Moslavina Tourist Board and the SFERIA Garešnica association.

We presented a range of engaging STEM workshops that drew a large number of children and young people and let them learn through play, exploration and hands-on work.

Digital technologies

At the digital technologies workshop, participants had the opportunity to get to know the modern technological tools and principles that shape the world around us. Through interactive activities, the children explored how technology works, developed logical thinking and discovered the many ways digital solutions are used in everyday life. The workshop sparked curiosity, creativity and an interest in the STEM fields that will define the future.

Bioplastics

The bioplastics workshop also attracted great interest, introducing participants to the world of biomaterials and sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics. Through hands-on work, the children explored what bioplastics can be made from, what their advantages are and why developing environmentally friendly materials matters for the future of our planet. In a fun and accessible way, they connected science, ecology and innovation.

Mammutico building blocks

A particularly cheerful atmosphere reigned at the Mammutico building blocks workshop. Through teamwork and the creative stacking of large foam blocks, participants built a variety of structures while developing spatial thinking, imagination, cooperation and problem-solving skills. Interesting constructions took shape, and the children's creativity showed once again that STEM can be enormous fun.

Throughout the event, the children took part in the activities with great interest, asked questions, explored new concepts and gained new knowledge through experiential learning. The Garešnica Infinity Festival confirmed once again how important events like these are for bringing science and technology closer to children and young people and for encouraging their curiosity and interest in the STEM fields.

The „STEMerica moves on“ project is run by the FabLab association with the aim of popularising the STEM fields among children and young people through workshops, public events and experiential learning.
