STEMerica moves on – workshops held in April

Throughout April the STEMerica moves on project brought a series of educational workshops to different locations, with the aim of bringing the STEM fields closer to children and young people through a hands-on, interactive approach.

📍 Frankopan Easter - Kaštel Grobnik (6 April)
A cryptography workshop was held in the setting of Kaštel Grobnik as part of the Frankopan Easter event. By working through the tasks, participants developed analytical thinking and learned the basics of encrypting messages.

📍 STEM picnic - CTK Rijeka (11 April)
At the STEM picnic in Rijeka, participants explored the principles of encoding and decoding messages through hands-on work. The workshop focused on solving tasks and understanding the mathematical patterns behind protecting information.

📍 STEM weekend Grobnik (12 April)
The cryptography workshop let participants try out the process of creating and breaking ciphers for themselves, using concrete examples and tools. The focus was on understanding the logic and the strategy of solving problems.

📍 Čavle Primary School - Multidisciplinary Day (16 April)
At Čavle Primary School, the work of the FabLab association was presented through the „A trace in the ink“ workshop, along with additional activities in robotics and construction. Through hands-on tasks, the children explored STEM concepts and developed their curiosity through play.

📍 STEM Thursday - Town of Grobnik (23 April)
At the Centre for Creativity and the Popularisation of Science, a workshop was held in which participants used movable mechanical tools for encryption. Through active participation they developed logical thinking and an interest in STEM.

The project is implemented under the grant call „Strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations to promote STEM" (project code SF.2.4.06.04.0122), co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus and the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
